Reforestation
Proper reforestation is vital for our environment's survival and is a major part of Spectrum's profile. We feature extensive experience in all aspects of reforestation. Our focus is on quality control and we can tailor our crews for any size project, access or difficulty.
Experience:
The management team of Spectrum Resource Group Inc. has extensive experience with both in tree- and area-based planting. We have diverse silviculture experience including incorporating regen surveys into our planting contracts. We have developed our own palm based program that will take field plot data and directly update forest management databases such as GENUS. We also have experience in many different ecosystems with many different planting styles. In 1994, we started training in the benefits of LFH planting and we continue to bestow these benefits today. We are confident that we can provide a professional cost-effective approach to your planting needs.
Quality Control:
We have an excellent reputation for top-quality planting. Quality management systems and environmental management systems are becoming standard today, and we have been working with these systems since they first appeared in the forest industry. We have embraced these systems as a proven way to increase efficiencies and safety within Spectrum.
Production & Structure:
We can provide the right size crew to meet any possible production levels. Spectrum has the resources and field personnel to allocate crews where needed quickly and efficiently. Our camps range in size from 12 to 100 people. Our average camp has 50 planters, a supervisor, assistant supervisor, quality checker, pay and regen checker, two cooks, and other support staff as required. There is also a project manager for each job who supports and coordinates all of the required resources and planning. We have qualified and experienced people with very successful track records for planting project implementation. We also have access to a wide range of resources for contracts that have difficult access. We own and utilize quads, argos, rangers, mini cab-over 4x4s, trucks, and rolligons. We also own our own tractor unit and reefers for the delivery and storage of seedlings. We also have extensive experience in the usage of helicopters for the delivery of seedlings and personnel into remote sites.
Reforestation Management System:
We have designed and developed a system in conjunction with our major clients over the past several years. Our system provides information and paperwork tools that help clarify roles and responsibilities, establishes accountability, ensures feedback and communication flow, and enhances field tracking and reporting.
We feel our efficiency and quality of work speaks for itself. However, we are on many Licensees’ preferred bidding lists and have direct award or multi-year planting contracts. 90% of our contracts for 2008 are direct award or multi year contracts.
