Hugo McLeod, FIT

Peace Region Operations Manager

Hugo's silviculture career began in the summer of 1993 planting trees in Ontario to fund his education at Bishop's University in Sherbrooke Quebec. Hugo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Bishop's University in 1996 after graduating from Crescent School in Toronto, Ontario where he was raised. He began going west for the summers in 1994 where his lifelong affiliation with Silvarado Silviculture started. Hugo quickly moved through the ranks at Silvarado under the wing of Crawford Young, RPF. Hugo relocated to the West permanently, residing in the Kootenay region of BC, in 1998 to attend Selkirk College where he received his Diploma in Forest Technology in 2000. Afterwards, he attended UNBC where he made Prince George, BC his home and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management, majoring in Forestry in 2003. Throughout his career he personally planted over 500,000 trees, led his crews to plant over 4 million trees and supervised the planting of over 10 million trees! Hugo was a force with Silvarado and brought his knowledge, experience, education and charisma to the merger with Bugbusters Pest Management in the formation of Spectrum Resource Group Inc. In addition to tree planting, Hugo has experience with various silviculture surveys, aerial and ground vegetation management, beetle probing and many aspects of Silviculture planning and policy. Hugo has been an owner of Spectrum since 2007 and presently manages the Chetwynd operations. As the owner and manager of Spectrum's Chetwynd operation, his knowledge and experience in Silviculture is tumescent. As a natural progression of Hugo's career, he is currently a Forester in Training (FIT) with the ABCFP. Hugo's education, experience, charisma and practical and results-orientated nature are all keys to his success in the industry.
