Crawford graduated from UBC with a BSc in Forestry in 1986 and continued on to become a R.P.F in 1992. After graduating from UBC he started Silvarado Silviculture in 1987. Although the company's focus was reforestation, it grew into a multi-faceted company to include stand tending, chemical brushing and weeding, fire suppression and fall and burn. Crawford brings experience in silviculture surveys, planting implementation, logging audits, brushing and weeding, and controlled burning. Crawford has obtained accreditation for Herbicide Application (Forestry General and Industrial Vegetation). In 2004 he became president for the Western Silviculture Contractors Association.
